Beginning
Sturn was the son of a middle-class working family. He joined the Sith Imperial Academy and, while there, decided to train towards a career in the Assault Armor Division, where he might operate the mechanical behemoths that were the Heavy Tanks of the Sith Empire. He believed the massive vehicles introduced during the earliest war best personified his own personality as well as that of the Sith Empire. He took up his training with rigorous determination, showing a surprising intellect and initiative after emerging from several "suicide missions" by surpassing his mission assignments. Sturn graduated at the top of his class, and, his superiors finding him both skillful and dangerous, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant upon graduation and an assignment as commander of an Titanus Heavy Tank. As a test of his abilities, he was soon shipped to a barbaric and backwater Mid Rim world called Bothawui.
First Battle
The Bothawui campaign was designed to either make or break Sturn. If he failed, he was likely to perish. He quickly learned that the Empire did not tolerate incompetence and failure. Seeking vengeance for its initial defeat at Bothawui, the Empire recalled battleships from across the galaxy to converge on Bothan Space. Although the Imperials had originally planned to bombard the planet from orbit, Bothawui's planetary shield prevented this, forcing the Sith commanders to plan a ground assault. The massive invasion force, consisting of over 50,000 Imperial troops, landed on the planet and initiated the battle. The Imperial commanders, led by Grand Moff Zellos, were confident that the battle would be a swift victory for the Empire and so sent their forces to destroy the shield generator in a direct assault. Sturn participating in the battle with a small group of troops, was sent to scout the Republic forces around the generator. He and his squad were slowed down by the jungles of Bothawui, eventually arriving near the generator. Sturn remained behind to cover the flank, while the other Sith soldiers advanced. As they neared the generator, most of his team was shot down by Republic snipers, Sturn dragging out the surviving members of the team. This decision resulted in heavy losses for the Empire, as the commanders had not anticipated the determination of Bothawui's defenders. The forces under Allusis's command fought regardless of their understanding that their likelihood of survival was slim, all while developing new and unorthodox tactics that devastated the Imperial ranks. For every one Republic soldier that was gunned down, the Empire lost ten Sith troopers. However, when Zellos was eventually forced to call in reinforcements, the tide turned, and the Republic forces were slowly beaten back and whittled away.
The majority of the Republic's forces were soon killed, leaving only a handful of soldiers and Jedi to defend the shield. The survivors rallied to Allusis for one final stand against the Empire; however, before the Sith attacked, Zellos offered to spare Allusis if his men would stand down. Under the guidance of the Force, Allusis and his troops rejected the offer and fought to their deaths. The young lieutenant holded back any coming Republic troopers whilte tending the wounded. After some hours, they returned to the sith camp. During the final engagement, the Empire took too many casualties to maintain an occupation force on Bothawui and was forced to retreat from the planet.
For his bravery and brilliance in saving the lives of his squad's memebers holding off any attackers, Sturn was promoted to major.

Later War years
Sturn's devotion to the army seemed to pay off, as he was granted the rank of colonel and the command of an Imperial garrison on Thule. Veers was also widely recognized as an authority on the Titanus tank, and often returned to Thule to guest-lecture at Titanus training courses and demonstrate prototypes of new Titanus models. During one of these demonstrations, he came to the attention of a Sith Warrior named Thaonas when he defeated a Republic invasion force.
At this point, however, Sturns career seemed to stagnate. He lacked the aristocratic connections needed to move up in rank, and questions had arisen regarding his methods of career advancement. Worse, during one of the training courses on Thule, a promising cadet named Davin Felth was about to show a new model of the tank by making another armor round in the back because of the weakness it presented. The weakness threatened Sturn's career, as it was so closely tied to the success of the tanks. He buried the incident by reassigning Felth to the infantry.
Sturn was able to continue work in secret on the new Titanus prototype on Geonosis, which he described as "the walker". Unexpectedly, the Geonosians declared independence from the Sith and abducted him. He was later rescued by Kasus Viy. Together, Kasus and Sturn completed work on the prototype and used it to crush the Geonosian rebellion, destroying a Geonosian City in the process.

Titanus Heavy Tank
